LayerMate — Licence

Last updated: 04/09/2026
This software is licensed, not sold. Buying LayerMate grants you a personal licence to use it — see the terms below.

1. Grant of licence

Subject to payment and compliance with these terms, you're granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use LayerMate on up to two devices you own or control (for example, a laptop and a desktop, or a Mac and a PC), for your own use. Your account's licence key identifies these installs — see Section 4 for how this connects to receiving updates.

2. Restrictions

You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, reverse engineer, or remove proprietary notices from LayerMate, except where applicable law expressly permits this despite this restriction. This includes not sharing your licence key with anyone outside the devices covered by Section 1.

3. Your files

Files you index with LayerMate remain entirely yours. LayerMate does not transmit them anywhere unless you explicitly enable network sharing yourself.

4. Updates

Every future update is included with your purchase at no extra cost, for as long as LayerMate continues to be developed. Receiving updates requires a valid licence key entered in the app under Settings → License — you're emailed a key when you purchase, and can view or resend it anytime from your account dashboard if you've misplaced it.

5. Refunds

Refund requests are reviewed individually rather than guaranteed automatically — contact support@layermate.app and we'll take a look.

6. No warranty

LayerMate is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. See the full disclaimer in the licence text bundled with the app.

7. Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes arising from this agreement will be handled under Australian law.
